Shreemai Bajrabarahi Temple
Bajrabarahi temple is one of four Barahi temple of Kathmandu valley which is situated in Chapagaun(Godawari Municipality), Lalitpur. This temple lies in the middle of the forest. It is believed that it is the avatar of the tantric goddess. The idol of the goddess of this temple depicts the face of a pig. According to legend, it is believed that this temple was built by Shree Niwas Malla in 786 BS. Before the temple was build there was a pond in the middle of the forest. It is believed that the Shreemai Bajrabarahi goddess was origin from that pond and later Shree Niwas Malla constructed the Temple. The amazing fact of this temple is that it has no pinnacle on it.
Besides the many significance of the temple, it is also popular for its remarkable scenery of forest and natural habitats. People visit this area for a picnic, sightseeing, bird watching, refreshment, scientific research, and so on.
